Brit Heyworth Marling, born August 7, 1983 in Chicago, Illinois, is an American actress known for her roles in independent films. After graduating from Georgetown University with degrees in economics and studio art in 2005, she initially interned at Goldman Sachs but chose to move to Cuba instead to film the documentary 'Boxers and Ballerinas', earning recognition for her co-writing and co-directing work on it in 2004. Marling gained further prominence for acting in and co-producing/writing 'Sound of My Voice' (2011), a film about two documentary filmmakers investigating a cult leader, Maggie, who claims to be from the future.
