Bill, a wealthy businessman, discovers his daughter's drug-dealing boyfriend in their home and shoots him dead during an argument. Overwhelmed with panic, Bill wanders the city streets before ending up in a bar where he meets Joe, a drunken factory worker with strong prejudices against 'hippies', blacks, and anyone who is 'different'. Despite his initial dislike for Bill's wealthy appearance, Joe is intrigued by Bill's secret. They spend the night drinking together, and Bill confides in Joe about the murder. The following morning, Joe offers to help Bill dispose of the body, leading to unforeseen complications.
