Set in 1960s London, 'Scandal' follows the life of Stephen Ward (played by John Hurt), a charismatic osteopath who becomes entwined with Christine Keeler (Joanne Whalley), an exotic dancer. He takes her under his wing, introducing her to high society and influential members of the Conservative Party through his parties and connections. However, their relationship turns scandalous when Christine begins an affair with Secretary of State for War John Profumo (Ian McKellen). When the affair becomes public, it threatens not only Stephen's reputation but also his freedom.
