Barbara Crampton, born on December 27, 1958, began her acting career with a role on the daytime drama 'Days of Our Lives' in 1983. She made her film debut in Brian De Palma's thriller 'Body Double' (1984). Raised Catholic in Vermont, Crampton spent summers traveling with a carnival due to her father's work as a carny. After starting her acting career, she became known for horror films such as 'Re-Animator' (1985), 'Chopping Mall' and 'From Beyond' (both 1986), 'Castle Freak' (1995), 'You're Next' (2011), 'We Are Still Here' (2015), and 'Little Sister' (2016).

After her husband Chris commits suicide following his job loss in Beverly Hills, Ann sets out for revenge against both the man who fired him and Nicole Garrett, the woman who got the promotion Chris desired. Ann swiftly handles the company owner but takes her time with Nicole, infiltrating her household as 'Anna Johnson'. She widens the rift between Nicole and Scott Garrett (Nicole's diabetic condition worsens), encourages rebellious daughter Darla to engage in risky behavior, seduces both Scott and son David, while slowly poisoning Nicole by tampering with her insulin.
