Izabella Scorupco, born on June 4, 1970 in Białystok, Poland to Lech and Magdalena Skorupko, moved with her mother to Sweden at age seven. She learned Swedish, English, and French there. In the late 1980s, she modeled across Europe before acting in 'Nobody can love like us' (1987). Her music album 'IZA' was certified gold in Sweden in 1991. She married Polish ice hockey player Mariusz Czerkawski in 1996 and had a daughter, Julia, before separating in 1998. She married American Jeffrey Raymond in 2003, having a son named Jakob. After resuming her singing career in 2011, she starred in a Swedish romantic comedy 'Micke & Veronica' (2014).

Fiscal attorney Rebecka Martinsson receives news of her brother's murder while at a party hosted by her boss and friend Måns Wenngren. She returns to her hometown Kiruna to defend her former sister-in-law, Sanna Strandgård, who is suspected of the crime.
