Naomi Ellen Watts, born September 28, 1968 in Shoreham, Kent, England, is a British actress who rose to prominence after her role in David Lynch's 'Mulholland Drive' (2001). She was nominated for two Academy Awards for Best Actress for her performances in '21 Grams' (2003) and 'The Impossible' (2012). Watts moved to Australia with her family at a young age, making her film debut there in 'For Love Alone' (1986), before moving to the United States. She had relationships with Heath Ledger (2002-2004) and Liev Schreiber (2005-2016), with whom she has two children, Sasha (born 2007) and Kai (born 2008). Watts began dating Billy Crudup in 2017 and they married on June 9, 2023.

The movie '21 Grams' weaves together three interconnected narratives that revolve around a devastating car accident. The central characters are Paul Rivers (Sean Penn), an ailing mathematician married to an English woman; Christina Peck (Naomi Watts), a suburban housewife with a secret past; and Jack Jordan (Benicio del Toro), a born-again ex-convict who has found Jesus after serving time for murdering his wife and children in a fit of rage.
