Alicia Roanne Witt, born February 21, 1974, in Worcester, Massachusetts, USA, is an American actress, singer-songwriter, and pianist. Recognized as a child prodigy, Witt began acting at an early age. Director David Lynch discovered her at the age of five when she recited Shakespeare's 'Romeo and Juliet' on the television show 'That's Incredible!'. This led to her casting in Lynch's film 'Dune' (1984), where she played Alia, the flame-haired sister of Paul Atreides. She turned eight during filming. Witt continued working with Lynch before earning her high school equivalency credential at age 14. She later did undergraduate work in piano at Boston University and competed nationally.

On his first night on duty at the struggling Mon Signor Hotel, Ted the bellhop finds himself in a series of comedic misadventures on New Year's Eve. In 'The Misbehavers' by Allison Anders, Ted is asked to babysit two troublesome children whose father happens to be a notorious gangster. Meanwhile, in 'The Wrong Man' directed by Quentin Tarantino, Ted delivers ice to the wrong room and inadvertently becomes entangled in a heated domestic dispute between a couple trying to conceive. In Alexandre Rockwell's 'The Man From Hollywood', Ted assists a coven of witches performing an ancient ritual in the Honeymoon Suite. Finally, in Robert Rodriguez's segment 'The Holiday', Ted is tasked with overseeing a deadly game of Russian roulette between two men. Throughout these chaotic encounters, Ted struggles to maintain his composure and dignity.
