Big Hustle (1999) follows the story of a talented but troubled jazz trumpeter named Billy 'The Kid' Puzo. After serving time in prison for his involvement in a drug deal gone wrong, Billy is determined to leave his criminal past behind and rekindle his passion for music. However, his former partners-in-crime have other plans. Led by the ruthless Tony 'The Bull' Santoro, they force Billy back into their criminal underworld, coercing him to use his musical talents to con unsuspecting marks out of large sums of money. As Billy struggles to maintain his integrity and escape from The Bull's grasp, he forms an unlikely alliance with a beautiful and enigmatic jazz singer named Lily LaRue.
