Elizabeth McGovern was born on July 18, 1961, and began her acting career while studying at Juilliard. She made her film debut in Ordinary People (1980). After completing her education, she appeared Off-Broadway and later in famous theaters. In 1981, McGovern earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Evelyn Nesbit in Ragtime.

The anthology film 'Women and Men: Stories of Seduction' presents three distinct tales set in different eras.
