Molly Kathleen Ringwald, born February 18, 1968, is an American actress known for her collaborations with filmmaker John Hughes. She debuted on TV in 'The Facts of Life' (1979–80), then gained fame in movies like 'Sixteen Candles' (1984), 'The Breakfast Club' (1985), and 'Pretty in Pink' (1986). In the 1990s, she starred in films such as 'Something to Live for: The Alison Gertz Story' (1992) and 'The Stand' (1994). She was part of the 'Brat Pack' and ranked number one on VH1's '100 Greatest Teen Stars'. Since 2017, she has portrayed Mary Andrews in 'Riverdale'.

Doug is a promising baseball player studying sports medicine at college but knows he needs an education to fall back on. At a party, he meets Melissa, a wealthy and spoiled teaching assistant for one of his classes who becomes his tutor. Doug and Melissa become intimate, threatening his relationship with Laura, his girlfriend and aspiring journalist accepted into Stanford. When Melissa becomes obsessed with Doug and starts stalking him, she also affects Doug's academic performance and puts both Laura and Doug's mother in danger. As Melissa's behavior turns increasingly disturbing, it appears her parents may have been abusive, hinting at an unresolved issue that drives her actions.
