Crime and Passion (1976) is a dramatic crime comedy directed by Ivan Passer. The story revolves around a disillusioned American expatriate writer, Henry Miller, who lives in France with his French wife, Anouk. Henry becomes involved in a plot to steal a valuable painting from a wealthy art collector, Count Valsin, whom he dislikes for his pompous behavior and pretentiousness. Alongside his accomplice, an Italian criminal named Carlo, they manage to pull off the theft during a lavish party at the Count's chateau. However, their plan takes a dramatic turn when Anouk becomes attracted to the Count, leading to complex emotions of jealousy, betrayal, and passion amongst the characters.
