In the dystopian mega-city of Earth in 2070, David Hume, a smart and dedicated human detective, partners with Ian Farve, an android of mysterious origins, to investigate crimes related to powerful corporations that control the world. Total Recall 2070 is a Canadian science fiction television series first broadcast in 1999 on CHCH-TV and Showtime, inspired by Philip K. Dick's works but sharing no major plot points or characters with them. Set in a futuristic Earth mega-city dominated by corporations, the series follows two detectives from the CPB as they grapple with crimes involving advanced technology. Filmed in Toronto, this Canadian-German co-production aired for one season consisting of 22 episodes.
