Micky Adams, an eccentric has-been rock musician living in his bizarre home, finds himself losing touch with reality as his record label considers dropping him due to his 'unique' new albums. In a bid to escape the mailroom, young intern Charlie Porter is assigned the task of traveling to Micky's residence and persuading him to relinquish his contract.
