Forty-year-old Bruno Ledeux receives a diagnosis from his doctor that he is unable to have children and has also taken out a large debt. He keeps this information from Anne, his beloved wife, as if trying to hide behind an unremarkable facade. Despite his seeming ordinariness, there's more to Bruno than meets the eye; hidden currents lurk beneath his peaceful exterior, occasionally surfacing without warning.
