Mariana, an upper-class Chilean woman with little to occupy her time, starts taking riding lessons from Juan, a former colonel with a mysterious past. Despite being married herself and feeling neglected by her husband, Mariana develops a strange attraction towards Juan. When she discovers that Juan is under investigation for Pinochet-era human rights violations, her curiosity and fascination are piqued.
