Last Thing He Wanted follows Elena McMahon, an ambitious journalist covering the 1984 U.S. presidential campaign. When her estranged father, Hilton, falls ill in Costa Rica, Elena leaves her assignment to fulfill his last wish. Hilton, it turns out, is a former arms dealer with ties to the Iran-Contra affair.
