La Garçonne (series) follows Louise Kerlac who witnesses the murder of a family friend in Paris at the start of the Roaring Twenties. To investigate the crime and hide from the true culprit, Louise poses as her twin brother Antoine, becoming a police detective. To infiltrate high society and protect her identity, Louise creates Gisele, a flamboyant female alter ego.
