Factotum tells the story of Hank Chinaski, the fictional alter-ego of author Charles Bukowski. The film follows Hank as he wanders around Los Angeles, trying to make a living through various jobs that don't interfere with his primary interest: writing. Throughout the narrative, Hank struggles with alcoholism and womanizing, which often lead him into trouble.
