In war-torn London, Welsh poet Dylan Thomas rekindles his relationship with childhood sweetheart Vera Phillips, now a cabaret singer. However, Vera also falls for William Killick, a charming officer she meets in London. Despite her newfound love for William, Vera still feels the spark between herself and Dylan, who is married to the adventurous Caitlin.
