After his wife's death, an unbalanced painter, who believes himself to be Vincent Van Gogh's reincarnation, goes over the edge and digs up her corpse with his necrophiliac butler's help. He brings the body back to his castle for 'inspiration'. Soon after, he meets a musician who resembles his late wife and brings her back to the castle as well. However, she eventually discovers that the butler murders young women, uses their blood for the artist's paints, and disposes of their bodies.

Delirio di sangue (1988) is an Italian horror-thriller directed by Sergio Bergonzelli. The film centers around a painter who becomes unhinged after his wife's death, believing himself to be Vincent Van Gogh reincarnated. His necrophiliac butler aids him in digging up his wife's corpse for artistic inspiration. Later, the painter brings home a musician who resembles his late wife, unaware that the butler has been murdering young women and using their blood for the artist's paints.
