Bank manager Frank Berndssen, around 40 years old and based in Berlin, is eager to finalize a deal for his Swiss investor group to takeover the French meat production chain of Charcuteries Albert. His careful planning is disrupted at Berlin-Tegel Airport when he encounters Patrizia Munz, a chaotic author in her early thirties trying desperately to board an overbooked flight to Paris. Patrizia has just received news that her lover, Jean-Jacques Secretin, lies in a coma following a car accident. Frank loans Patrizia the money for an upgraded ticket, and they reluctantly share the flight. Their connection deepens as they commute between Düsseldorf and Paris, each dealing with their own crises: Frank's professional ambitions are at stake, while Patrizia visits her comatose lover in Paris.
