Anya Josephine Marie Taylor-Joy, born on April 16, 1996 in Miami but raised between Buenos Aires and London, left school at age 16 to pursue acting. After several small television roles, she gained prominence with leading parts in 'The Witch' (2015), 'Split' (2016) and its sequel 'Glass' (2019), and the series 'Peaky Blinders'. She was nominated for a Golden Globe for her role in 'Emma' (2020). Her performance as Beth Harmon in 'The Queen's Gambit' (2020) earned her a Golden Globe and SAG Award, along with an Emmy nomination. Recent works include 'Last Night in Soho', 'The Northman', and 'The Menu'. She also voiced Princess Peach in 'The Super Mario Bros. Movie' (2023) and will star as Imperator Furiosa in 'Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga' (2024).
